Web Analytics Visual Graphics Report

Web Analytics - Always Google Analytics?

Web analytics helps to measure the metrics of a website and understand how visitors interact with the website. Google Analytics is probably the best-known web analytics tool on the market. However, it is problematic for data protection reasons and is often too complex and oversized for smaller websites. For this reason, I use "Plausible Analytics" (https://plausible.io/) on my website - installed directly on my own server. I am excited about the possibilities and appreciate the following points, among others:

  • Open source solution.
  • Easy installation and configuration
  • It's great that I have control over my own data and can protect the privacy of my visitors.
  • Less is sometimes more: It is very easy to use and helps you get a quick overview.

Conclusion: I can fully recommend Plausible Analytics for smaller projects, but for larger requirements and in the professional marketing environment, Google Analytics or Matomo are still more suitable.

Update December 2023: From now on, the privacy-friendly analytics solution Usermaven (https://usermaven.com/) is used.

In the following overview you can see how my website is visited (December 2023).
